Overview
This Shipping & Returns policy outlines how Allied Seals, Inc. (“Allied Seals,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles shipment, delivery, returns, and cancellations. These terms apply to all orders unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
Shipping Coverage and Carriers
Allied Seals ships within the United States and internationally. We utilize a variety of carriers based on shipment requirements, including UPS, FedEx, DHL, and freight carriers (LTL).
Shipping methods may include:
- Customer collect shipments using the customer’s carrier account
- Third-party billing arrangements
- Prepaid & Add (“PPA”) shipments, where Allied Seals prepays freight and adds the actual shipping cost to the invoice
Shipping Timing and Lead Times
Shipping timelines are based on inventory availability and quoted lead times. In-stock items typically ship within a short processing window, while non-stock or special items ship according to the quoted lead time.
All shipping dates are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
If a customer requests or schedules shipment for a future date, availability of in-stock items is not guaranteed at the time of the scheduled shipment. While we make reasonable efforts to align inventory with scheduled dates, stock levels may change.
Shipping Charges and Requirements
Shipping charges are not calculated at checkout. Freight is handled according to the shipping method selected:
- Collect or third-party shipments are billed directly by the carrier to the customer
- PPA shipments are billed at actual cost and added to the customer invoice
Customers are responsible for clearly communicating any shipping requirements at the time of order, including but not limited to packaging preferences, weight limits, order completion requirements, reel or packaging specifications, labeling, tagging, or special handling instructions.
Insurance requirements must also be communicated in advance, including requested coverage amounts.
Risk of Loss and Insurance
For customer collect or third-party shipments, all shipments are FOB Allied Seals’ dock. Risk of loss transfers to the customer upon tender to the carrier.
For PPA shipments, Allied Seals is responsible for shipment tendering to the carrier.
Allied Seals is not responsible for loss or damage to shipments that are not insured at the customer’s request. If a customer does not specify insurance requirements, shipments will be insured by default.
Returns and RMAs
All returns require prior authorization. Customers must request a Return Material Authorization (“RMA”), and returns will not be accepted without an approved RMA issued by Allied Seals.
Returns are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and fall into two general categories: defective and non-defective returns.
Defective Items
Defective items, including special or custom orders, are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Samples or documentation may be required for evaluation.
Non-Defective Items
Non-defective returns may be accepted for standard stocking items, subject to approval. A restocking fee may apply and is determined on a case-by-case basis.
Custom or special order items are generally non-returnable unless deemed defective. Cut-to-length materials are evaluated on a case-by-case basis depending on the ability to resell the returned material.
Return Timing
Items are eligible for return consideration within sixty (60) days of receipt, subject to approval by Allied Seals, Inc.
Once an RMA is approved and issued, returned material must be received by Allied Seals within thirty (30) days of the RMA authorization date. Returns received outside this timeframe may be declined or reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Damaged or Incorrect Shipments
Customers must notify Allied Seals immediately upon discovery of damaged or incorrect shipments.
Freight claims are filed by the customer. Allied Seals will support customers with documentation and information as needed.
Order Cancellations
Cancellation requests must be submitted prior to shipment and are subject to approval. Fees may apply if processing has already begun.
Custom, special order, and cut-to-length items are typically non-cancelable once processing has started, including procurement of raw materials, production, or cutting operations.
Customer Storage Responsibility
Customers are responsible for proper storage and handling of products upon receipt. Improper storage conditions may affect product quality and performance and are not considered defects.
